Tower 15, 2021 Grenache Blanc
Our Tower 15, 2021 Grenache Blanc delivers intense and plush flavors. The grapes for this vintage were carefully grown on Morro View Vineyard in the Edna Valley AVA in San Luis Obispo County, where the soil composition includes a diversity of meta volcanic rock, blue schist, chert, greywacke and serpentine. The grapes for this wine were hand-sorted and gently pressed into a stainless steel tank, where it sat undisturbed for two days to settle. The juice was racked off its lees into a second tank, and then barreled-down into entirely neutral French oak barrels. Upon fermentation, the barrels were stirred daily with a concerted effort to keep the ferment's temperature under 68°F. Once fermentation was complete, the barrels were self-topped using gravity and continued to age for 90 days.
The juice is fermented using only native, natural yeast alive in the air and on the grapes. Nothing is added throughout the wine's elevage, resulting in a wine that is rich and complex with strong primary fruit flavors and acid, and remains unfined and unfiltered.
Bright, clean and lively aromatics of pear, honeysuckle and lime zest with impressive acidity to keep this wine fresh and exciting on the palate. Lime, anjou pear and fresh cut grass.
