Pali, 2019 Pinot Noir 'Summit'
Our ‘Summit’ is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown on Pali Vineyard and other premium vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County. Each vintage we work with a selection of highly sought-after Pinot Noir focused vineyards in the region that grow extraordinary grapes. While these are mostly bottled as single vineyard wines, in 2009 we began reserving a selection of barrels from each vineyard to create what is now our ‘Summit.’ This wine is expertly blended to capture the spirit of the region and express the unique flavors associated with Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir–characterized by rich, earth-laced fruit and exotic spice. It is fermented in small lots and then aged in 20% new French oak for 240 days.
Ripe red fruits swirl among light tones of mushrooms and spice. Juicy acidity on the finish maintains balanced with the fresh berry flavors layered into pleasant earthy tones.
