Pali, 2019 Pinot Noir 'Riviera'
Riviera is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from two vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA: Pali’s Vineyard in the southeastern corner of the AVA and a small family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA. This wine is fermented in small lots, punched down up to three times daily during fermentation, then barrel-aged in 30% new French oak for ten months.
This Pinot Noir is noticeably dark in the glass. Unsuprisingly, the nose is filled with bright, bold and juicy berries leading into a very fruit-forward Pinot Noir. Black cherry, smashed blackberry, and mocha create an intense palate, with mouth-coating viscosity, expressed as dried sage, thyme and rosemary.
