Pali, 2017 Sparkling Rose of Pinot Noir 'Pali Vineyard'
Our single vineyard Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir is made from exclusively Pinot Noir grown on Pali Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. The grapes were hand-harvested on a chilly late summer morning, foot stomped and whole-cluster-pressed the same day. This sparkling wine was made in the traditional 'methode champenoise', where secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle. 12% alcohol by volume. Pali Vineyard is located along the HWY 246 corridor in Gypsy Canyon in the Sta. Rita Hills. Planted in 2012, this 50-acre vineyard sits on a gentle, southeast-facing slope comprised of mostly sandy soil. Pali Vineyard sustainably grows mostly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with limited plantings of Gamay and Dornfelder. Pali has an SIP (Sustainability In Practice) certification. Light aromas of watermelon, nectarine and pale-pink rose petals are subtle and fresh on the nose. The palate is tense and crisp, offering flavors of pluot and nectarine.
