Pali, 2018 Pinot Noir 'Rancho La Vina Vineyard'
Rancho la Viña Vineyard sits on a north facing bench high above the Santa Ynez Rivier in the Sta. Rita Hills. The vineyard is part of a family-owned and operated ranch established in the 1860’s that is home to cattle, walnuts, and various other fruit trees. The wines benefit from cool Pacific Ocean winds, and a perfect growing climate for Pinot Noir. This wine is composed of clones 115 and 777 and was fermented in small lots and punched down by hand multiple times daily. It was barrel-aged in 50% new French oak for 18 months, and bottled in June, 2020.
Ruby red in glass, with sparkling clarity, showing extremely lively aromas of dancing hibiscus, cranberry and rose petal. This wine delivers an extremely elegant body, artfully constructed to be simultaneously delicate and bold. Ripe cherry, pomegranate juice and seeds with crispy acidity and white pepper, cedar spice
