The grapes for this Merlot hail from Texas Road Vineyard, owned and farmed by Eric Russell of Rabit Ridge Vineyards in Paso Robles' San Miguel District. Russell's dry method of farming this very warm site results in low yields and produces a wine that shows off a lot of bright red fruit. This small-production wine was hand-harvested, fermented in small lots, punched down by hand up to three times daily, and then barrel-aged for 18 months in neutral French oak with approximately 15% new American oak. Only four barrels produced. Bottled May 2019.
