Pali, 2017 Pinot Noir 'Fiddlestix Vineyard'
Our single-vineyard Pinot Noirs feature a highly selective and worthy collection of vineyard-designated wines, bottled individually to showcase their nuanced characteristics. This wine was barrel-aged in 50% new French oak barrels and 50% neutral French oak barrels before bottled. 14.8% alcohol by volume, bottled in July 2019. Fiddlestix Vineyard was planted in 1998 by Kathy Joseph 'Head Fiddle' at Fiddlehead Cellars. Fiddlestix Vineyard is planted to 80 acres of Pinot Noir, which benefits from morning fog, mild sunny afternoons, and cool ocean breezes. Red cherry compote, earthy herbs, and a hint of oak show on the nose of this bottling. The medium-bodied palate offers delicious cherry, raspberry-sorbet, and red-currant jam flavors, with a touch of wild herbs on a very soft mouthfeel.
