The "Highlands" Chardonnay is crafted from fruit grown on both our Pali Estate Vineyard and the Chapel Vineyard (formerly Huber Vineyard) located in the esteemed Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Several Chardonnay clones are included in this wine: the Wente clone from Chapel Vineyard as well as Clone 17 (aka Robert Young) and Clone 37 (aka Dijon Clone 95) from the Pali Vineyard. This wine was barrel-fermented and barrel-aged for 15 months, using 30% new French oak, prior to bottling in December 2018.

Pali Vineyard spans 50 acres and is located in Gypsy Canyon along the Hwy 246 corridor in the Sta. Rita Hills. Planted entirely to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals in 2012, our vineyard sits on a gentle, southeast-facing slope comprised mostly of sandy soils. Made from Clone 95, this elegant, mineral and acid-driven wine was barrel-fermented and barrel-aged sur-lie with regular batonage of the less, which contributes to a more luxurious mouthfeel. The wine was aged in a combination of new (50%) and neutral French oak (50%) for 16 months and bottled in May 2019.

This vineyard, planted primarily to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, has been meticulously cared for and maintained over its long history. Located in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills, the vineyard benefits from the appellation's cool climate, ocean breezes, coastal fog and incredible soils. This Chardonnay is fermented in small lots, barrel-aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak. Bottled April 2019.

Extremely low yields from this harvest afforded us limited, but high-quality fruit to craft this wine. Made from Clones 17 and 37, this wine was barrel-fermented and barrel-aged in a combination of new and neutral French oak for 14 months and bottled in January 2018.

Vanilla and crème brulee followed by fresh lemon, dried lavender, and pineapples. Lemons and vanilla beans start out on the palate with acidity and candied flavors swirling together. A touch of cream is cut by the tart green apple and dances with lively minerality. Salty notes back up the flavors of baked pears and pie crust. Finishes clean with lingering toasty qualities.
