The growing conditions for the 2012 vintage were ideal, allowing for full and even ripening of the fruit. Ranier cherry, strawberry, and anise are the primary aromas followed by underlying notes of vanilla ice cream and Christmas spices. On the palate, there is a mixture of bright red cherry and strawberry fruit mixed with earshy and floral flavors. The tannins are evident but soft, making for a smooth mouth feel and a gently finish.
The 2013 Bluffs Pinot Noir is true to its Russian River appellation, with its dark ruby color, aromatic nose and balance, pretty composition. An explosion of black cherry, boysenberry and blueberries meet the nose, followed by floral notes. On the palate, there are dark berries, currant and pink peppercorn. The finish is long, with lingering earthy notes.
A serious wine with aromas of black currant, dark chocolate, exotic spices and black berries. Chewy tannins form its great structure carrying loads of black fruits, anise, raspberry and wisps of anise.
