Another Great Year for our Single-Vineyard Release.

Every year, we look forward to releasing our single-vineyard wines. All of our releases are full of excitement, as they are the moment when we can finally share our wines with our customers. Our single-vineyard release takes on even more import since these wines are the gems of our portfolio. We make these wines in very small quantity, and they receive the highest amount of attention during evey phase of the grape life cycle and during the winemaking process. This year's lineup of single vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays includes these Sta. Rita Hills Vineyards: Huber Vineyard, Fiddlestix Vineyard, Cargasacchi Vineyard, Rancho La Vina Vineyard, and our newest addition Radian Vineyard. We're so excited for you to taste through our 2014 single vineyard wines!

Pali's winemaking philosophy centers around the quality of fruit and making a wine that express the unique qualities of each piece of land. We think this approach to winemaking results in the highest quality and most delicious wine. We're so excited for these wines to finally leave the barrel and arrive in our tasting rooms, our online store, retail shops and restaurants throughout the country.

It is also very exciting when critics enjoy our productions. In the past we have been honored to receive high ratings from top critics such as Robert Parker, Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, and we are happy to announce that this year is no different. One of our founders, Tim Perr, had this to say about this year’s single-vineyard production:

“We work very hard to craft single vineyard wines each year that accentuate the qualities of the premium vineyards that we source from as well as the vintage. We are gratified that the critics have recognized our efforts with these excellent scores on our 2014 Santa Rita Hills wines.”

Check out these reviews from Robert Parker:

"The 2014 Chardonnay Huber Vineyard has a classy bouquet of buttered orchard fruits, charcoal, toasted bread and spice. Barrel-fermented (malolactic fermentation was mostly blocked) and aged 15 months in 30% new French oak, drink this rounded, layered, yet still fresh and lively white over the coming 4-5 years.”

- Jeb Dunnuck,

“The 2014 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard has lots of kirsch, spiced red fruits and loamy earth in a charming, medium-bodied and elegant style. Coming all from clone 115, completely destemmed and aged 15 months in 50% new French oak, it’s an outstanding Pinot Noir that I’d happily drink over the coming 4-5 years."

“From a top tier vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2014 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard comes from two clones, the Pommard and 777. It was destemmed and spent 18 months in 50% new French oak. This fresh, lively, medium-bodied beauty gives up slightly lifted notes of red currants, red plums, violets and incense on the nose. It’s a little rough around the edges on the palate, but has plenty of charm and should drink nicely for 3-4 years.”

- Jeb Dunnuck,

“A beautifully complete and layered effort is the 2014 Pinot Noir Rancho la Vina, which like the Radian Vineyard release comes from the 777 and Pommard clones and was aged in 50% new oak. Giving up lots of kirsch, dried herbs, earth and spice, this medium-bodied, seamless and elegant 2014 has outstanding purity of fruit and is a joy to drink. It should keep nicely through 2022.”
