"Summit" is made from premium grapes grown on our Pali Estate Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. This wine is hand-crafted, using small-lot fermentations and then aged in 30% new French oak for 15 months and bottled in December 2018. "Summit" is carefully blended to create a distinguished Pinot Noir that is complex in character yet approachable upon release.
"Riviera" is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from two vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA: Pali's vineyard in the south-eastern corner of the AVA, and a small, family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA (a sub-AVA within Sonoma Coast). This wine is fermented in small lots, punched-down up to three times daily during fermentation, then barrel-aged in 30% new French oak for eight months. Bottled in May 2018.
"Huntington" is crafted from premium Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Riverbench Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley AVA and from our Pali Estate Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. This wine is carefully blended to express the unique flavors associated with Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir. True to the region, "Huntington's flavors consist of soft red fruits, particularly strawberries and raspberries and a variety of baking spices, clove, and cinnamon, along with such earthy components as black tea and mushrooms. This wine is fermented in small lots, barrel-aged in 20% new French oak for 15 months and then bottled in December 2018.
"Bluffs" is crafted from premium Pinot Noir grapes sourced from several notable vineyards in the Russian River Valley AVA and carefully blended to express the unique flavors associated with this appellation. Pali's "Bluffs" is fermented in small lots, barrel-aged for eight months and bottled in April 2018.
"Alphabets" is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Oregon's Willamette Valley AVA. This wine is carefully blended to express the unique flavors associated with the Willamette Valley appellation. "Alphabets" is fermented in small lots and barrel-aged for 10 months in 30% new French oak. Bottled in 2018.
"Charm Acres" is crafted from premium Chardonnay grapes sourced from top vineyards in Sonoma County. This wine underwent minimal malo-lactic (ML) fermentation, resulting in a Chardonnay that is bright and lively on the palate. It was aged for 10 months using less than 25% new French oak, which adds a hint of richness to this incredibly balanced Chardonnay. Bottled in August 2018.
The "Highlands" Chardonnay is crafted from fruit grown on both our Pali Estate Vineyard and the Chapel Vineyard (formerly Huber Vineyard) located in the esteemed Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Several Chardonnay clones are included in this wine: the Wente clone from Chapel Vineyard as well as Clone 17 (aka Robert Young) and Clone 37 (aka Dijon Clone 95) from the Pali Vineyard. This wine was barrel-fermented and barrel-aged for 15 months, using 30% new French oak, prior to bottling in December 2018.
The P.C.H Rosé is named for the scenic Pacific Coast Highway that runs along much of the California coastline, the perfect spot to sip our dry, crisp style of Central Coast Rosé of Pinot Noir. This rosé is made from a combination of whole-cluster pressed Pinot Noir grapes and blended with ten barrels of saignée made from premium Pinot Noir vineyards. This wine was barrel-aged entirely in neutral oak for four months and then bottled in February 2019.
Fiddlestix Vineyard was planted in 1998 by Kathy Joseph, "Head Fiddle" at Fiddlehead Cellars. Located in the heart of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA in Santa Barbara County, CA. Fiddlestix Vineyard is planted to 80 acres of Pinot Noir, which benefits from morning fog, mild sunny days and cool ocean breezes. This wine is a combination of Dijon clones 667, 777, and Pommard 4. It was fermented in small lots, barrel-aged in 50 percent new French oak for 15 months, racked once and bottled in May 2019.
This is the inaugural wine crafted for our newly launched "Clonal Series" program, designed to showcase an individual Pinot Noir clone. Each year, we will select one of seven Pinot Noir clones from a single block on our 50-acre Estate vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation in Santa Barbara County. This year's focus is Clone 2A from Block 5 on the west side of our vineyard, which is a warmer area protected from the prevailing westerly winds. Harvested in the 2016 season, this wine was barrel-fermented and aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels. Only four barrels of this wine were produced.
